Sir Edward

Sir Edward is an animatronic skull who was born in Long Beach, CA in 2020. Edward is a Quarantennial and likes Jim Carey, Alan Watts, and the opera and his favorite song is “I Heard it Through the Grapevine”.

Because everyone around Edward was wearing masks at the time of his language acquisition, he has a slight lag between the sounds that come out of his mouth and the motion of his jaw. This can be resolved through a simple procedure of upgrading his jaw-servo.

Edward is unusually brilliant. He has addressable LED (WS2812) eyes which can run animations. In order for his microprocessor to process audio, servo position, and FastLED code simultaneously he runs a partitioned multi-threading Arduino algorithm to keep things moving.

Sir Edward likes to relax in a dormant state however wakes up and talks or sings when people are detected in his proximity.
