The Champ

The Fender F1 Model Champ is a classic amplifier used by Lightening Hopkins and many of the great musicians of the 1940’s and 1950’s. To this day there is no other amp that sounds quite like it, a boss little blues box with screaming mid-range tone, depth, and sweetness. I built this amplifier kit by hand in 2012 and used it to make the albums Freepile and Bones with the band Foam in Santa Fe, NM. If you take a casio keyboard, run it through some guitar pedals, and into this amp, it will sing like a Hammond organ.
